Sibang Cove

Sibang cove is probably one of the best unspoiled beach in the Philippines.  What I love about this place is the soft powdery white sand, the crystal clear waters and the fact that the place is so remote. Sinag Cove

Getting there is only part of the adventure – a 600 km road trip to Aparri, Cagayan and the wild 5-hour boat ride in the open seas where the Pacific Ocean and China Sea meet.  Whether you take the big outriggered boats locally known as lampitaw or the Eagle Ferry, make sure you keep your eyes on the open sea for a chance to see humpbacks or dolphins.Aparri, Eagle Ferry, Calayan

The locals say that humpbacks frequent the island from March to May.

When you get to Calayan, you will be tempted to jump off the boat to cool down on the refreshing clear waters right in front of the town center where the ferry docks.

Sibang Cove is located east of the town – you may take a kuliglig or a 30-minute banca ride to get there.

1. Despite the rough seas, we decided to take a banca ride to Sibang Cove. 2. Sunset behind the cliffs off Sibang, and 3. The rough terrain off the coast to Sibang.

Be prepared to rough it out and be one with nature when you get to Sibang Cove – bring your camping gear, prepare your own meals, spend time star gazing & sleep under the clear evening skies.

Camping in Sibang Cove

Sibang cove faces the east so make sure you wake up early to watch the sun as it rises above the Pacific Ocean – it one of the most gorgeous sunrise you will ever experience.

Right after sun rise, spend a couple of hours exploring the place.Around Sibang CoveSibang Cove, Calayan IslandSibang Cove, Calayan IslandSibang Cove, Calayan IslandSibang Cove, Calayan IslandSibang Cove, Calayan Island
